View 2 This is the pair to the "View 1" which also needs re-creation. |
View 3 We start the process of filling out and re-creating the tops of the carvings by sketching a proposal that we send to our dear clients for approval.
View 4 Then from the sketch we cut out the profile in thick paper. |
View 5 Then from the profile cut out, we sketch out the proposed carving in clay.

6 Once our sketches are complete, we mill out the Cheery wood and cut out the profile in Cherry. |

View 9 This view shows more blade restoration on the second piece. |

View 10 This view shows one of the pair from the top down with its new carving in place.

View 11 This view shows the other pair with its new carving in place. The angle of the shot makes the restoration look extremely elongated. |
View 12 Here we have a straight on view of one of the carvings with all the pieces re-carved. This angle shows the restoration in proper proportion. |

View 13 Here we have a straight on view of the other carving with all the pieces re-carved. Now that is some sweet carving ... out of thin air. |
View 14 This view will come as soon as we go on site to North Carolina to photograph the pair in situ.
